As someone who has been in the broadband industry for years, I’m always asked “what’s the best router?” Well it depends on exactly what you need. In all likelihood that means a wireless router. Looking for a wired option? The NETGEAR 5-Port Multi-Gigabit Ethernet Unmanaged Network Switch (MS105) is your best bet.

But if wireless if your taste, I’ve picked out the four best from the most affordable to the most feature rich. Questions? Contact me at matt.thaxton@yahoo.com.

TP-Link Deco AX3000 WiFi 6 Mesh System(Deco X55)

Buy this router in a pack of 3 to ensure great coverage.

This router runs on Wi-Fi 6 Mesh. Its mesh system eliminates weak Wi-Fi and work in areas of up to 6500 square feet. Its insane, but you could connect up to 150 devices if desired. Additionally, an AI-driven mesh intelligently learns the environment to optimize coverage. This router also has a well build Homeshield that provides network protection.

Amazon eero 6+ mesh Wi-Fi router

This eero router is an Amaon product. It supports wifi speeds up to a gigabit yet is affordable. You can run a whole family of streamers on the eero 6+ and its easy to set up and manage remotely. The Eero Truemesh routes traffic well to reduce drop-offs and dead spots.

TP-Link Tri-Band WiFi 7 BE10000 Whole Home Mesh System (Deco BE63)

If you have a tribe of gamers and a heavy thirst for streaming, then step up to WiFi 7. Depending on who you ask, WiFi 7 is between two and four times faster than WiFi6. For heavy users, the step up to WiFi 7 is worth the hefty price tag.

NETGEAR Orbi 970 Series Quad-Band WiFi 7 Mesh Network System

I should have just put a picture of a Lambo above because that’s what orbi is to routers. If you demand the absolute best performance, buy an orbi.
